About Chardham Yatra

The Chardham Yatra is one of the most important pilgrimages in India, covering four sacred shrines in the Himalayan region: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This spiritual journey covers a distance of approximately 1,200 kilometers, taking pilgrims through breathtaking landscapes.

Gangotri

Gangotri is the first temple of the Chardham Yatra, dedicated to Maa Ganga. Located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, it is the source of the holy Ganges River, which flows from the Gaumukh Glacier. Surrounded by stunning Himalayan views, this temple is a peaceful and spiritual place for devotees to seek blessings from Goddess Ganga.

Yamunotri

Yamunotri is the second temple of the Chardham Yatra, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Located at an altitude of 3,293 meters, it is the source of the Yamuna River. The temple stands near the Yamunotri Glacier, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Pilgrims visit this sacred site to seek blessings from Goddess Yamuna and purify themselves in the holy river.

Kedarnath

Kedarnath is the third temple of the Chardham Yatra, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located at a height of 3,583 meters, it is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva. The Kedarnath Temple is set amidst the stunning snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, offering a spiritual experience and a chance to connect deeply with Lord Shiva in the peaceful surroundings of the Kedarnath Valley.

Badrinath

Badrinath is the final temple of the Chardham Yatra, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Situated at 3,133 meters above sea level, the temple is surrounded by majestic mountains and the sacred Alaknanda River. It is considered one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in India, where devotees come to seek blessings from Lord Vishnu and experience spiritual serenity in this sacred Himalayan setting.
